Okay before I begin I have to say I love Indian/Bangla/Paki fashion. I just love how they never restrain themselves, everything is over the top and gorgeous! I also love how HSY took the traditional designs and instead of putting them only on the Shalwat Kameez (the dress with pants worn by most people in south and central Asia), or Lehnga (a long formal skirt worn by women in central and south Asia) he put them onto dresses. I absolutely love it! It makes it easier for us hijabis to hijabify.

So this collection is a bit old, from 2009 but I love it too much to just pass over it.

Of all of the ones I have here this on has to be my favorite! ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH IT! SOMEBODY BUY IT FOR ME! First of all gold on cream looks so regal. It’s not so bright and in-your-face but its still stunning. For me personally I like dresses that are more elegant and simple rather than bright and design everywhere. This here is elegance! Loving the empire waist and the collar!

My only wish is that the neck wasn’t so low. Although it is pretty it makes it a little bit tougher for us to wear. To hijabify something like this I would say a cream blazer and hijab, both plain, should be worn with this. A nice gold pin on the scarf would be nice but don’t overdo anything, you do not want to take the attention away from the dress.

Another amazingly beautiful dress! I wish the picture was a little brighter so we could actually see more of it. Loving the fact that this is long sleeves!! And the beautiful designs and colors! Love the design on the cloth! Again for a formal South & Central Asian style dress this is more on the plain side but I am totally in love with that. I also love how the dress falls. Its not dramatic like the skirt of a ball gown but it is still really nice.

My favorite part about the dress is no jacket/blazer/cardigan needed!!! All you need is to throw on a scarf. A scarf the color of the blue at the bottom of the dress would be nice. A nice plain one again! Or you could go safe and wear one the color of the dress which is cream.

Compared to the above two I would say this one is more plain. Although I am sure the amount of work on it is the same. I’m loving how the neck is covered so it isn’t too low cut. Also this seems like a maxi wrap dress. I’m loving that! I’m also loving how at the edges all the designs are thick creating a perfect border.

So with this you could wear a black blazer and white scarf or you could go with a black scarf whichever you prefer.

Can I just say I wish this was a coat. I would absolutely love that! I love it anyways, but can you imagine. AND PRAISE THE LORD THE DRESS HAS POCKETS! Dress with pocket = heaven. I am loving the collar and the fact that there is no deep neck, the long sleeves this dress is perfection. I can’t tell if it is floor length, but if it is then I need this dress now.

For this you just need a hijab, an either white or black would do just fine. I personally would wear black.

And this concludes my super tiny HSY review! If you want to see more click here

I don’t know much about this designer, or when these designs came out, but I just came across these two dresses and fell in love.

This dress is just too cute to pass up. I love the little flower at the waist and the pearl necklace (which I am assuming is not attached). The color is really pretty too. This would be nice for a nice spring or sumer wedding.

To hijab-ify a beige or off white (basically a color similar or the same as the flower at the waist) blazer and hijab would look great.

Okay this is so cute, I love the bust area! I wish instead of at the bust it was at the bottom of the dress. That would be amazing! That would make it better for someone to wear a hijab with it and still have colors showing.

To hijab-ify you can wear a blazer in any color that you see on the bust area. And then a hijab of the same color or any other color you see. This is just really fun an relaxed. Love it!

I know I know….fall & winter 2010 was a long time ago, but who cares, I love it, and I have gotten so much inspiration from these I’m bringing them up again.

So I’m going to go from my fifth favorite to my first favorite. All the dresses were amazing and exuded glamor, and style and femininity.

Okay Drum roll~

In fifth place we have……..

Amazing color!!! Absolutely stunning! I love how the design is one you normally see for gowns but the details that stand out make it so unique. The only thing I dislike is the ruffle at the hip. Other than that love love love it.

To hijabify this (of course if you can fix the slit) you could wear a gold shawl or a beige blazer. And then for both wear a beige scarf.

You can look at this set for inspiration :

http://suaadh.tumblr.com/post/4458860586/wet-grass

And now fourth place goes to…..

I know I’m probably going to be repeating this a lot, but LOVING the color! I sincerely wish the dress had that tulle looking full skirt all the way around! This would be the perfect princess dress. At the moment it reminds me of Ariel from The Little Mermaid, on the inside a mermaid but on the outside a queen/princess. I have to say, and I’ll probably say this again and again too but I love the uniqueness of this line. I love how the designs are common with unique details.

So to hijab-ify this you would probably have to add a gold or beige blazer. Or a off white blazer. And then a hijab matching the color of your blazer. Wearing a hijab the color of the dress would also work fine, but because its so bright to try and tame it wearing a neutral colored blazer and hijab.

You can look at these sets for inspiration:

http://suaadh.tumblr.com/post/3821414033/jewel-of-the-evening

Coming in third place is…….

LOVE THE COLOR! Anyone who knows me knows how much I love grey dresses. I’m obsessed. And I love how its feminine yet it looks strong and warrior-like without losing the feminine touch! The cut is a little too high for my like, I think it would actually be amazing closed up all the way.

To hijabi-fy this (well first you have to get rid of the slit, or wear a skirt of the same cloth or look and the same color) you could add a dark grey jacket (for the edgy look) or blazer (for the formal look). And then a hijab of the same color! Or you could go with a white jacket or blazer and then white hijab.

You can look at this set for inspiration:

http://suaadh.tumblr.com/post/3900129994/fade-to-grey

And now in SECOND PLACE……………

Can I just say I LOVE Grecian/Goddess gowns! LOVE THEM! And this is Grecian/goddess and grey all at the same time! BEAUTY! I love the draping and the bust area. Loving this! I love it so much I don’t even know what to say!

To hijab-ify this one you could just like in the third one wear a dark grey blazer with a matching hijab. Or you could do shades of grey. Wear all your accessories and clothing are all different shades of grey. A dark grey blazer, a hijab that is a light grey than the jacket and then all the accessories can be all random shades of grey.

For inspiration you can look at this set:

http://suaadh.tumblr.com/post/3900129994/fade-to-grey

AND NOW, THE ONE AND ONLY FIRST PLACE…..

I WANT THIS RIGHT NOW! I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER IF SOMEONE BUYS THIS FOR ME, OR MAKES IT…WHATEVER I JUT WANT IT! THE COLORS ARE AMAZING!!I love love the pink and how it gets darker and the ends up the dresses looks like petals of a flower. The waist line and how its sort of shimmery. the grey in between. The part hta hangs down at the back! THIS IS LOVE! My most favorite gown ever~

So to hijab-ify this you could wear a black blazer with a hijab the color of the pink at the way bottom of this dress. It would be perfect!

I really don’t have anything too similar to this, but for inspiraton youcoudl look at this set:

http://suaadh.tumblr.com/post/4551000177/silent-raindrop

This is an old fashion spread from a Vogue issue back in 2005. It was Beauty and the Beast starring Drew Barrymore. I think the gowns are so gorgeous, and she looks so beautiful.

Love the color and the designs under the chest area. And her hair is so beautiful!

And ahhh the color of this one!!!! I love grey dresses! And I love the sheer sleeves. The way the skirt only slighly puffs out into a round shape makes it perfect!

The color of the bow is just so royal looking! I love how the dress looks so relaxed and easy and comfortable. I just want to put it one and dance under the moonlight.

Okay someone buy me that coat, that is the most beautiful coat ever. And the flower applique at the bottom of the dress is so cute. I love how the coat and the dress give off such different moods yet they still manage to work together so well. The coat is more serious fit for a queen and the dress is like a flower girl or a young princess.

Not exactly fond of this dress, but I love love love love her hair. So beautiful.

I really admire how this dress can manage to be both fun a mature at the same time. For some reason I think this dress would look amazing on a pregnant woman. The ruffles would and the color and the pregnancy glow, yup it would be amazing!

LOVE THIS DRESS! okay, actually I lie, there are things I hate, but I LOVE the general idea and flow. I hate the puffy shoulder, and the sash like thing from under the bust. If it was more plain I think this dress would be AMAZING!

A white scarf, or a gold scarf, or a beige-ish colored scarf would work fine!

Okay I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Elie Saab, He is one amazing designer!! And for all the Muslims out there most of his looks could be easily hijabafied.

I love that all his dresses have a flow-y feeling. I just love that, it looks extremely comfortable and it looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

I just love the feel of this dress. We definitely have the flow-y feeling going on there! I love the color and the sheerness. I am in love with Empire waists, I love what it does to your shape so this is definitely somethign I would love to buy.

Its not exactly Islamic, but imagine it had more layers to take away the sheerness and the butterfly sleeves were longer and also layered so as to take away the sheerness. Also we could just pull the chest area up a bit, or bring it together so there is no cleavage showing!!

I love all the floral detailing on this dress. I never liked these type of dresses but I am definitely attracted to this one! I love really feminine clothing, sure your slouchy shirts and all are nice too, but I LOVE and prefer to wear more feminine clothing, and this definitely is one of those extremely feminine pieces.

To Islamify this you could add more tulle underneath so it didn’t have those see through parts and make it a little more looser, more like a princess dress. Or of course you could just buy a size a tiny bit bigger. And also you could just wear a tulle skirt underneath. Then you could add a a white jacket or blazer with a white hijab on top.

I have a sort of hate-love relationship with this dress. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the sleeves, the color, and the skirt part of the dress. I hate the chest part, it seems awkward on the models flat chest and the way I imagine it on a bigger chest doesn’t seem too appealing either.

This can’t be exactly Islamified, unless you where it on top of loose jeans and where a jacket on top. I think a white jacket and hijab would look best!

OMG OMG OMG THIS ONE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Love the detailing, love the waist, love the sheer part above the chest, and love the color! I have no words for this dress! It is simply amazing!!! Perfection!!

The hijabification of this dress is extremely easy, all you need is a jacket, or shawl, or blazer on top and a hijab. I would wear a white blazer, or a gold shawl. If you wear a shawl then be sure to wear a shirt or sleeves underneath just in case something happens and your arms are exposed. Wiht the white blazer a hijab the color of the dress or a white hijab would look great! I would wear  a hijab the color of the dress with a white blazer! With a gold shawl definitely a hijab the color the dress.

Love this dress a lot too. I have a thing for long sleeves dresses (or quarter sleeves as in this case.) Maybe tis because you have to work really hard to make a dress with sleeves look good and wearable. Obviously Islamically we do that all the time but most designers don’t do that and when they do it kind of looks awkward. But anywhooo this looks amazing, love it!

This color looks really good with white, which is why I keep saying white blazer and hijab, but I’m sure if you found something else int he right tone it could also work. This dress would have been perfect if it was a tad bit looser and if the sleeves were a bit longer! All you would need is a nice hijab in the same color or in white or in gold!

This is also one of those I-hate-it-but-I-love-it type of looks. I love the color and how its paired with a gold cuff and I love love love the clutch!! (I alos love the models hair a lot!!!) The shape of this look and the uniqueness are also really nice, but I’m not very fond of the bottom half. I guess it goes, but it just doesn’t look right.

To Islamify this, you would have to get rid of the slits on the side of course, and make it a little looser also. And then add a jacket on top, black or even white would go perfectly, with a hijab in any of those colors!!

LOVE THIS DRESS!! I feeel like I say that for almost every dress, but thats how much I love Elie Saab’s designs!! (the models hair also goes so well with the dress, love that style!) The neckline is amazing, and I love the one-shoulder, with the nice empire waist!!  The color is gorgeous! It extremely elegant. I love elegant pieces, because I feel like they don’t even have to try to be beautiful, they just are.

This is easily Islamified!!! All you need to do is add a jacket and hijab on top. A white jacket would probably go best!!! With a white hijab also! Or if you want to you could go with black. Or if you want to be a little edgy you can go with a red pumps and red scarf with a white blazer or red blazer!! Or instead of red you could go emerald green or sapphire blue.

And here we are at the last one! So we all know this one isn’t hijabi-fyable unless we did a little changing. Heres what I would do, instead of taking those two side and sewing them together, if there was just more cloth that went all the way around the skirt would be more full and flowy instead of figure hugging (kind of). And then of course the bust area needs to be put together, and I think it would be so beautiful if instead of that flower applique pat at the bust there was just more cloth with tight(-ish) sleeves.

Thanks for Reading, and look out for more reviews in the future.

As a lover of fashion I understand very well that your fashion should reflect who you are, after all fashion is an art. But can I just say WHAT.THE.ACTUAL.HECK. For someone who has to appear in front of people all the time this is just unacceptable. I understand that politics is your job, your life, your only concern, your everything. But We the People are judging you. What you are wearing is definitely part of what we are judging. Some people, like me, flat out are judging you for what you are wearing and everyone else is  doing it subconsciously. I know what you are thinking, “who is this dumb blonde Barbie doll, who only looks at appearance” (my apologies to the blonde, and Barbie community, I do love you very much). The truth is that I do listen to what you have to say, and i do respect you for many many things you  have done.  I just can’t help but feel sorry for you every time I see you embarrassing yourself in another colorful matchy matchy pantsuit. You really deserve much more than to look like a wannabe man. With all the turbulence in your life I could see why that would happen, but DON’T LOSE THE WOMAN POWER! I promise you won’t die if you put on a nice skirt, or dress, or maybe a nice cardigan.

I understand that fashion was never really your thing:

(College 1969)

but I mean I would expect that with your position and status it would not be hard to find a stylist.

For now I’m going to just give you a few tips, based on things you have been photographed wearing.

FIRST AND FOREMOST: QUIT IT WITH THE MATCHY MATCHY:

Need I say more about this point?

SECOND POINT: STOP WEARING ORANGE!

if you decide to wear orange, a tiny bit at a time, don’t bathe in a pool of orange paint please!

POINT NUMBER THREE: WEAR CLOTHES THAT FLATTER YOUR SHAPE

Not every woman is perfect, I understand that, some woman are bigger, some are on the smaller end.  The point is that you pick a dress that fits YOUR shape. Something that flatters your silhouet.

Oh and make sure the dress doesn’t look like a pool thats about to swallow you up!

FOURTH POINT: DON’T WEAR WHAT LOOKS LIKE A SWEATSHIRT UNDER YOUR BLAZER!

srsly, is that a sweatshirt, isn’t that deemed inappropriate for work?

POINT NUMBER FIVE: ONLY WEAR A HAIR PIECE IF IT IS AGE APPROPRIATE, AND IF IT IS, MAKE SURE IT LOOKS GOOD.

I’m pretty sure I had one of those when I was five, it came with my medieval inspired princess dress.

I don’t even think it’s necessary to explain this one….

POINT NUMBER SIX: WEAR COLORS THAT FLATTER YOUR SKIN TONE, OR WEAR ANY COLOR YOU WANT, BUT ONLY WEAR THE RIGHT AMOUNT

Mrs. Clinton lighter colors would probably suit your skin better. But if you must wear this color (which I think is possible for you to rock) or any dark color (besides black) then try to minimize the color usage. Feel free to wear more than one color at a time, and MIX COLORS! It’s okay to wear more than one color at a time, you won’t look like the rainbow if you wear three or even four different colors at the same time.

And when I say three or four colors I’m talking about different pieces of clothing that are different colors, not this:

POINT NUMBER SEVEN: WEAR SUNGLASSES THAT FLATTER YOUR FACE

Something just isn’t right, they look out of place.

POINT NUMBER EIGHT: STOP WEARING PANTSUITS ALL THE TIME!

As Tim Gunn put it “she could use a better gender.” I completely and wholly agree with this statement. Most of the pics above are an example of that fashion DON’T.

…..REALLY? because I freaking actually believe this………

And just in case you don’t believe me when I say you are Fashion terrorist your fashion don’t will always be present in a wax figure that was made of you

SO in conclusion you need to take the following actions as quickly as possible:

1. Fire your stylist if you have one (I’m guessing you don’t have one, if so please skip this step)

2. Look for a new stylist

3. Hire me

4. Donate your pantsuits to your male colleagues

5. Be happy and look nice!

Lets just say its a mix of the very best fashion and the very worst fashion unless you actually like wearing garbage bags

Some of the things I saw were absolutely amazing!!!!!

For examples this:

Love the colors and the style!! Very Classy!

Also this one was one that I really liked. Loving the colors and the pattern of the top! And adorable shoes!!!

Loving the color of this one!!! And the shoes!! If the slit was closed up, and the neck was closed up and you added some butterfly sleeves or some tight (but not too tight) long sleeves, scrunched at the bottom if the sleeves!! And then you could make the bottom half of the dress Ball gown-esqu this would be the perfect party Abaya!!!

^So going to try making that idea..

And now of course the last two are my ultimate favorites!!!

LOVE THE COLORS, LOVE THE FLOW!!! OMG WANT SOOO BADLY!!!

I can see this being hijabified extremely easily. I imagine walking through the desert with golden gladiator sandals, hair out, kind of blowing in the wind!! I like it…a lot!

Ok and now, the please-don’t-ever-wear-this-or-else-you-will-look-like-a-walking-garbage-bag

Stay glad with GLAD bags

I don’t even know what to say about this…I like the shoes……

Ok not gonna lie, when I found out Anthropologie was coming out with a wedding line I was worried. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Anthropologie, but I wasn’t sure who would want to buy a wedding dress from them. Also considering their style I was wondering how they would make this work. But can I just say WOW, I AM IMPRESSED. I love it!

Ok now having said that I am going to point out that if you are not a vintage lover you are missing out this won’t be your type of thing.

My favorite out of the floor length gowns was the Ethereal Monarch Gown

And I usually hate tulle peeking out on floor length dresses but this is certainly an exception. I just love how it gives that nice floating look.

Ok I h ave to add a pic of the back, because it is AMAZING!

Butterflies might be so third grade, but I just love the light airy feeling they give this dress.

My second favorite floor length dress is the Cascading Goddess Gown

I absolutely love the wispy, fairy feel. It almost looks like your just flying away in the breeze. The asymmetrical cut, OMG THE ASYMMETRICAL CUT! I know its a wedding dress but I would love to go running through a field of flowers just sleep in this. The only thing I dislike about this dress is the bodice part. I guess it goes with the design of the dress, but I hate structured bodices, the dress should fit me, I shouldn’t have to fit the dress.

Ok My last favorite of the floor lengths is the Sweeping Taffeta Ball Gown

Ok first of all  my dream come true.. HIDDEN POCKETS ON A DRESS…ok I know that happens all the time….but srlsy these are actually hidden. I love love love love love love pockets, and I never thought they would be possible on a wedding dress but Lo and behold here it is, beautiful I say BEAUTIFUL! Also loving the bow and the neckline!

Ok now for the shorter wedding gowns!!!

Ok my favorite is the Tulle Era Dress

This is definitely the modern vintage lovers dress. Out of all the wedding gowns this is my second favorite! Where to start!!!! First the fact that it is Swarovski-dotted, and then the floral applique!!! All done by hand  btw. The makeup of the dress is so easy going, and light~

All of that ^ was amazing but the back was what really did it for me!

next is the Pinwheel Tea Dress

This dress is beautiful, simple yet elegant, but I have to admit it was the I didn’t think much of it until I saw the back. The back is pretty simple, just like many other gowns, but for some reason I just love the unique way the bow is tied. It just seems perfect, and so feminine and so mature.

And now for my favorite bridesmaid dresses!!!!

I just love how they are all so simple yet so elegant and cute at the same time. And the fact that they are so versatile is a HUGE plus point.

Okay this dress I want it now…I’m in love

The back is perfect!!!!!

Some of my other random faves

Ok and this last dress..I don’t even know what to say…SO MUCH WANT

They have awesome shoes, accessories, jewelry, lingerie, cover-ups and hair stuff, but I’m too sleepy to go over it!!! Make sure to check their stuff out at: http://www.bhldn.com/index.cfm
